(UTV|COLOMBO) – Speaker of House Karu Jayasuriya says society is depleting rapidly at present.
Speaking at a programme in Kandy the Speaker said ordained persons too at times fail to set an example.
Speaker Jayasuriya said for a country to develop it is essential to maintain discipline adding the country at present lacks discipline.
The Speaker claimed the Maha Sangha should contribute towards efforts to reinstate respect and discipline among societies.
Speaker Jayasuriya meanwhile commenting on the vandalism of the CCTV cameras at the University of Kelaniya said many Buddhist leaders of other countries expressed their concern over the involvement of a Buddhist Monk in the incident adding steps should be taken to prevent such incidents in future.
