SLPP to take disciplinary action against Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is to take disciplinary action on its own Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.

SLPP Politico Keheliya Rambukwella said that the disciplinary action will be taken against Wijeyadasa after he criticised the Government and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Rambukwella added that Wijeyadasa’s political history and behaviour is well known by the public.

Parliamentarian Wijeyadasa Rajapakse claimed he was verbally abused and threatened by the President on Friday (16). He said that the President had abused him during a telephone conversation.

“He spoke to me in a manner that is not suitable for the Head of State. Therefore, I too had to respond in kind,” Wijeyadasa said at a special media briefing.

Wijeyadasa also said that he had complained to the Police over the matter.
