Second Reading of the GST Bill in Parliament on 10 February

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Second Reading of the Special Goods and Services Tax Bill will take place in Parliament on the 10th of February.

The decision has been taken by the Committee on Parliamentary Business. Meanwhile,

Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake said Parliament is scheduled to convene from the 8th to 11th of February.

Accordingly, during the next Parliamentary week, a number of bill will be taken up for debate including the National Medicines Regulatory Authority Act, the Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill, Civil Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill and the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill in addition to the GST Bill.

Parliament will be in session from 10am to 5.30pm daily.
