Prices decided by supply & demand

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka’s Finance Ministry says the prices of essential goods in Sri Lanka are now being decided based on the supply & demand in local markets.

Finance Secretary S. R. Attygalle told that NO trader is allowed to increase the prices of essential goods in an unacceptable manner.

He said the Consumer Affairs Authority of Sri Lanka is continuously monitoring the prices in the local markets, while measures are in place to ensure there is no shortage of essential goods in the local market.
