(UTV | COLOMBO) – Over 81,000 persons have been arrested on charges of violating quarantine regulations thus far.
53 persons were arrested on the relevant charges during the past 24 hours, increasing the total arrested since October last year to 81,034.
Police said 3,149 persons entering and exiting the Western Province in 1,907 vehicles were inspected yesterday.
415 persons travelling in 208 vehicles, without the required permits, had been sent back at the checkpoints.
