One-day service to issue NICs to resume today

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Department of Registration of Persons says the one-day service to issue National Identity Cards, that was temporarily suspended will resume from today.

The Commissioner General of the Department Viani Goonetileke said services will be provided to individuals who make prior appointments owing to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.

NICs will be issued to a limited number of persons under the one-day service at the Head Office in Battaramulla and the Galle Southern Provincial Office.

Applicants who have already made bookings to obtain National Identity Cards under the general service, can visit the Department on the due date to obtain NICs.
