Govt. to continue with AstraZeneca vaccine

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Government to continue the administration of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in Sri Lanka.

Cabinet Co-Spokesperson, Minister Ramesh Pathirana today (16) assured that Sri Lanka does not receive that particular batch of vaccine doses that have been suspended in certain European countries.

A number of European countries recently suspended the use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine after reports of possible side-effects including several incidents of blood clots in people that had received the shot.
