(UTV | COLOMBO) – A COVID-19 Vaccination trials will take place on today (Jan. 23) at three locations including two hospitals, the Ministry of Health said.
Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said the trial will be carried out at the Piliyandala Medical Office of Health, the Piliyandala District Hospital and the Ragama Teaching Hospital.
Dr. Herath said the trial is being carried out to identify practical issues that could arise when the vaccination drive commences and in order to determine the time spent on vaccinating a certain number of individuals.
He added the Health Ministry is prepared to administer the vaccine as soon as it is received.
