SLTB depots provide fuel for Private buses

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama says the initiative to supply fuel to private buses via 45 Sri Lanka Transport Board depots, commenced this morning.

Accordingly, 100 liters of fuel will be supplied to buses limited to one province, and 150 liters to inter-provincial buses.

Speaking to media in Kandy, the Transport Minister said the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has been supplying fuel to Sri Lanka Railways and the SLTB.

He commented that discussions among the two parties made it possible for the CPC to supply fuel for private buses through 45 depots of the SLTB.

The Minister assured that bus drivers can obtain fuel without lining up in queues.

He revealed that the Ministry of Tourism has also issued a special sticker for buses transporting tourists.

Such buses will be able to top up on fuel from a depot at their destination and return on the journey.

He assured that all buses will be given fuel through SLTB depots in the days to come.
