(UTV | COLOMBO) – A Welikada inmate, who escaped from the prison cell while serving a life sentence has been apprehended from Makumbura, Kottawa.
Police had also recovered five grams of heroin from the inmate.
Police said officers confiscated two cars and seven mobile phones from the prisoner who escaped from the cell in 2017.
Police are conducting further investigation after obtaining a seven-day detention order.
