Two FR’s filed challenging Cabraal’s appointment

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Two Fundamental Rights petitions have been filed before the Supreme Court by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya against the appointment of Ajith Nivard Cabraal as the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

The petitions were filed by SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara and Parliamentarian Manusha Nanayakkara.

Governor Cabraal, Attorney General Sanjay Rajaratnam, Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa, the Monetary Board of the CBSL and the Secretary to the President Dr. PB Jayasundara have all been cited as respondents.
