Tusker “Bandula” dies in Dehiwala zoo

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Bandula Tusker, who lived for a long time in Dehiwala National Zoo, has died.

Dehiwala Zoo Operations Director said that the tusker was 79 years old when it died.

Born in Anuradhapura in 1943, this tusker was taken into custody by the Department of Wildlife when separated from the herd at the age of three.

After that, in 1949, this elephant was handed over to Dehiwala Zoo.
