(UTV | COLOMBO) – Three Sri Lankan students studying at the Western Caspian University in Baku, Azerbaijan have died in their apartment as a result of suffocation from smoke inhalation due to a fire that broke out on Thursday (08).
The Foreign Relations Ministry yesterday said the authorities in Azerbaijan have initiated an investigation into this incident.
“The Sri Lanka Mission in Tehran and the Azerbaijan Mission in New Delhi are coordinating with the Foreign Relations Ministry in this regard,” it said.
