Three killed in a road accident in Damana

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Three persons have died in a road accident reported when a car and a lorry collided in Damana, Ampara.

The victims include a four-year-old boy, a 31-year-old who was driving the car and a 29-year-old woman.

Police said the victims are residents of Kalmunai. Another five persons who sustained injuries in the accident were admitted to hospital.

Investigations revealed the accident was a result of reckless driving by the drivers of the car and lorry.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested over the incident while further investigations are being carried out by the Damana Police.
