Steps taken to curtail artificial fertiliser use – President

(UTV | COLOMBO) – President Gotabaya Rajapaksa says Sri Lanka has taken steps to curtail the excessive use of artificial fertiliser in order to address health concerns and reduce nitrogen pollution.

The President said efforts are underway to halve the sum of nitrogen emissions by 2030.

President Rajapaksa speaking at a discussion with state leaders of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly said Sri Lanka, that has a rich heritage moulded by the teachings of Lord Buddha, is aware of the importance of ensuring a balance of the environment.
