Sri Lanka and US discuss ban on Army Commander

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A decisive meeting is scheduled to get underway today (16) between the Ambassador of the United Sates (US) to Sri Lanka Alaina B. Teplitz and the Minister of Foreign Relations Dinesh Gunawardena over the order issued by the US State Department banning the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva and his family members from entering the US.

The discussion will focus on the matters that resulted in the ban imposed by the US State Department on the Army Commander.

Gunawardena stated that the Government expects to resolve the matter concerning the Army Commander by maintaining friendly relations with the international community under the leadership of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
