(UTV | COLOMBO) – Police say a special security plan will be implemented across the island today and tomorrow.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said Traffic Police and Intelligence Officers have been deployed as part of the programme.
He further said a special plan is being implemented centred around the Colombo city as well.
He said the public will travel to various areas and be out and about to celebrate tonight.
He added therefore Police officers have been deployed on duty, especially at night.
SSP Thalduwa said several car parks were established around Galle Face Green for the public, to minimise traffic congestion.
