Special poll day for those in quarantine centres

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The National Election Commission has assigned 31st of July, as a special poll day for those held in quarantine centres to cast their ballot.

Chairman of the Commission Mahinda Deshapriya said arrangements will made to conduct polling at quarantine centres and ensure the voting rights of all persons are protected.

Nearly 6,000 persons are currently held at quarantine centres as a preventive measure to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
