Special Cabinet meeting tomorrow

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Reports citing that a special Cabinet meeting will be held tomorrow (07), are incorrect, Co-Cabinet spokesman – Dullas Alahapperuma says.

He made the clarification at today’s (06) Cabinet meeting.

Minister Alahapperuma explained that Cabinet Secretary had merely stated that the President wanted to meet with them and have a brief discussion on the current situation in the country, as they had not met in two weeks.

Therefore, the Cabinet spokesman – I wish to correct reports claiming this to be a special Cabinet meeting, the minister added.

Earlier, media reports cited that a final decision regarding the proposals to increase the prices of cement, milk powder and gas is to be taken at this special Cabinet meeting.
