(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Court of Appeal today (17) fixed 23 February to hear the petitions filed by former Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Shani Abeysekara and former CID Sub-Inspector (SI) Sugath Mendis.
The 2 suspects were remanded by the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court for allegedly fabricating evidence in a case against former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Vaas Gunawardena and group of other suspects.
Their bail applications were earlier rejected by the Gampaha High Court.
