Seven more tested positive for COVID-19, toll reaches 59

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Seven more persons tested positive for COVID-19 today bringing the toll of the positive cases to 59, Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe said.

Speaking at the daily news briefing being held to update the COVID-19 situation in the country, Dr. Jasinghe said the wife and the daughter of the gem businessmen who were tested positive earlier were also among the seven cases reported today.

Meanwhile, he said the Colombo East Base Hospital (CEBH) Mulleriyawa would be converted into a facility equipped to treat COVID-19 patients from tomorrow.
