(UTV | COLOMBO) – A programme has been launched to award educational scholarships to children below the age of 20, who lost parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The programme will be implemented under the ‘Itukama’, COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund.
Applications must be submitted along with a certified copy of the death certificate of the mother or father, a certified copy of the birth certificate of the child, a letter of confirmation of the Grama Niladhari officer of the Grama Niladhari Division where the death occurred and a confirmation letter from the principal of the school which the child attends.
Applicants are requested to direct the applications to the Secretary, COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund, Presidential Secretariat, Colombo 01.
