(UTV | COLOMBO) – The leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Sajith Premadasa has apologised to Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith over a statement by Former Parliamentarian Harin Fernando.
Speaking at a media briefing today Premadasa said he will not hesitate to seek forgiveness or correct a mistake.
Harin Fernando had stated that comments by the Cardinal after the Easter Sunday attacks last year were politically disadvantageous to the then government at the Presidential Election.
He stressed that the comments by Former MP Harin Fernando at an election rally, caused hurt and was disrespectful, adding he therefore expresses his sorrow over the statement and apologises.
Premadasa remarked that he would never hesitate to apologise when a mistake has been made.
The SJB Leader said he would repeatedly seek the forgiveness of the Cardinal for Harin Fernando’s statement.
