(UTV | MANNAR) – Leader of the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC), Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen paid his last respects to the late former Bishop of Mannar, the Right Reverend Rayappu Joseph.
The former Minister visited the Bishop’s House in Mannar today (03) and paid his last respects to the remains of the late Right Reverend Bishop while expressing his deepest condolences to the Christian community.
He also left a note in the condolence book placed at the Bishop’s House.
The final rites of the late Right Reverend Bishop will take place on Monday (05). Parliamentarian Bathiudeen urged all communities to observe this day as a day of mourning and of manifest grief.
Bishop Rayappu worked in close collaboration with the Vatican, International Caritas Agencies and countries of the European Union (EU) to promote peace in Sri Lanka.
