(UTV | COLOMBO) – The 17.44 percent increase in bus fares is effective as of today.
The new bus fares will be applicable to private buses as well as buses of the Sri Lanka Transport Board.
Accordingly, the minimum bus fare which was Rs.14 will be increased to Rs.17 from today.
The National Transport Commission announced that action will be taken against bus operators who charge more than the stipulated fare.
