PTL Director Muthurajah Surendran remanded

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The eighth suspect in the controversial Treasury bond case Muthurajah Surendran, a Director of Perpetual Treasuries, has been arrested and remanded.

He was remanded till the 18th of March after being produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage today.

Muthurajah Surendran was arrested following an arrest warrant issued by Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake last evening.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court yesterday issued warrants for the arrest of former Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake and nine others in relation to the controversial Treasury bond transactions for allegedly incurring a loss of Rs.51.98 billion to the State during two bond auctions in 2016.
