(UTV|COLOMBO- General Election) – The Election Commission says 24 independent groups have placed deposits to contest the upcoming 2020 Parliamentary Election.
The Election Commission issuing a statement said yesterday 15 independent groups placed deposits to contest from 10 districts.
The period to accept deposits of independent groups seeking to contest the Parliamentary Election commenced on the 3rd of March and will conclude at noon on the 19th of March.
