Protest : TID urged to release detained student leaders

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Several activists staged a protest outside the Terrorism Investigations Division (TID) calling for the release of student leaders Wasantha Mudalige and Ven. Galwewa Siridhamma Thero.


The two student leaders have been detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) for over 60 days.

Wasantha Mudalige, Hashan Jeewantha, and Ven. Galwewa Siridamma Thera were arrested over a protest in Colombo and were ordered to be detained by the Defence Minister.

While Hashan Jeewantha has since been released, Mudalige and Ven. Galwewa Siridamma Thera remain in detention.
