(UTV | COLOMBO) – Nuwara Eliya District Returning Officer Rohana Pushpakumara said that steps have been taken to remove 10 senior Polling officers who were selected for election duties in the Nuwara Eliya District and conduct an investigation against them.
He said that the decision was taken based on complaints received that the above individuals, all teachers had been involved in party politics.
Pushpakumara said that the complainants had provided evidence along with photographs.
He also stressed that another group was appointed for election duties instead of those who were removed.
