Power disruptions in several areas due to rains

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The electricity supply to some 45,000 people living in several areas in the Kegalle, Ratnapura, Galle, Matara, Hambantota and Kurunegala Districts had been disrupted due to heavy rains, the Ministry of Power and Energy said.

Ministry’s Spokesman and Director (Development) Sulakshana Jayawardena said the areas such as Rambukkana, Deraniyagala, Ruwanwella, Kahawatte, Elapatha, Kuruwita, Ambalangoda, Baddegama, Hakmana, Kamburupitiya, Tangalle and Kuliyapitiya were subject to power disruption.

The CEB workers are in the process of restoring the electricity supply, he said.
