Power cuts not to be imposed today

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) stated that power outages will not be imposed today as well. CEB Additional General Manager and Media Spokesperson Andrew Nawamani stated that the 3,000 metric tonnes of fuel provided by Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) are sufficient to provide electricity.

He added that if the electrical demand in the coming few days is not unbearably massive, the fuel provided can be managed until the coming Tuesday (18).

Navamani further stated that a decision will be taken on Tuesday regarding the future supply of fuel to the CEB.
