Petrol shipment to reach Sri Lanka today (19)

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Power and Energy said that a vessel carrying 40,000 MT of petrol is scheduled to reach the country today (19). The Ministry said that the payments have been made for the relevant vessel.

Also, the Ministry of Power and Energy says that over 100,000 people have registered for the National Fuel Pass, and the distribution of new fuel stocks will not take place until the registration is completed.

In the meantime, many tense situations were reported from island wide filling stations yesterday (18).

A heated situation had taken place at the Mahiyanganaya Lanka IOC filling station yesterday (18).

Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that the Police has fired in the air to control the situation.
