Over 70,000 arrested for curfew violations

(UTV | COLOMBO)  – 1,490 persons who violated curfew regulations were arrested at police checkpoints within the past 24 hours.

498 vehicles were also seized during this period.

Police stated that 70,042 people were arrested since curfew was imposed together with 19,856 vehicles.

Police also revealed that cases were lodged against 25,942 persons while legal action has been taken against 10,892.
