Over 700 arrested for violating quarantine law

(UTV | COLOMBO) – In the last 24 hours, 705 persons have been arrested for violating quarantine regulations.

The Police Media Division stated that 58,414 persons have been arrested so far for violating quarantine regulations issued to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

They noted that 13 blockades have been set up at 13 entry and exit points to the Western Province.

Accordingly, 735 persons travelling in 458 vehicles were inspected at the exit from the Western Province and 1,072 persons travelling in 570 vehicles were inspected at the entry to the Western Province.
