Over 260,000 COVID-vaccine doses to arrive tomorrow

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Elderly population from high-risk areas will be prioritised in the next vaccine drive from the first shipment of 264,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine reaching the country tomorrow (07), the Ministry of Health stated.

The vaccine procured by the UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) will be the first allocation of the 1.44 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from the COVAX Facility.

The first shipment will be delivered through UNICEF via Emirates Sky Cargo.
