More than 7 hours power cut to be imposed today

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A seven-and-a-half-hour power cut will be imposed across the island today.

Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka Janaka Ratnayake said a five-hour power disruption will be enforced in the morning, while a two-hour and 30-minute disruption will be enforced at night.

Ratnayake said the PUCSL had to reluctantly approve power cuts as the Ceylon Electricity Board has not received the required fuel to power generators.
