Landslide warnings issued in several districts

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Landslide warnings issued in several districts owing to the inclement weather over the country has been extended.

Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili said the landslide warnings have accordingly been extended till 4pm tomorrow.

Kodippili said the landslide warnings were issued to several electorates of the Badulla, Galle, Kandy, Kegalle, and Matale Districts.

He said Ella and Passara in the Badulla district, Nagoda, Neluwa and Elpitiya in the Galle district, Pasbage Korale, Ganga Ihala Korale, Gangawata Korale, Yatinuwara, Harispattuwa, and Udunuwara in Kandy, Aranayake, Bulathkohupitiya, Ruwanwella, Kegalle, Rambukkana, Mawanella, and Yatiyantota in the Kegalle district and Rattota, and Ukuwela in the Matale district have been issued landslide warnings.
