(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Chairman of the Laggala Pradeshiya Sabha (PS) and seven others have been arrested for gambling.
The group was arrested at around 2.30 this morning while Police had also confiscated Rs.24,000 from the suspects’ possession.
Police said 221 milligrams of heroin were also seized from a suspect during the raid.
The said individual is reportedly engaged in selling heroin and marijuana to residents of Laggala and Wilgamuwa.
The suspects are scheduled to be produce before court today.
