(UTV | COLOMBO) – Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva says a mobile vaccination programme will be carried out across the island from today.
Speaking during an event at the Panagoda Army Camp the Army Commander said steps will be taken to deploy Tri-Forces personnel to establish mobile vaccination centres at public places and state institutions.
He noted the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose was being administered at a slow pace over the past few days, as the number of infections in the country had reduced.
General Silva added however the situation is different now.
He said as there is an increase in COVID-19 cases, it is important to obtain the booster dose.
