Indigenous medicine being studied to fight coronavirus

Indigenous medicine is being studied to fight the coronavirus, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said today.

He said that a discussion was held with indigenous medical practitioners and Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Pavithra Wanniarachchi.

The discussion took place at the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) in Rajagiriya.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said that Ayurveda medicine and other indigenous medicine is being studied to fight the coronavirus.

He said that over 50 indigenous medical practitioners attended the discussion and some proposals have already been made.
