Human Rights Commission to question IGP on the Rambukkana shooting

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The IGP and several senior Police officers have been summoned for questioning by the Human Rights Commission, on Thursday, April 22.

Human Rights Commission will be questioning the top officials of the Sri Lanka Police regarding the Rambukkana shooting where the police open fired at protestors killing one.

Several videos on social media has surfaced showing that the police allegedly ran behind civilians continuing to fire shots at them while the civilians tried to get to safety.

The IGP has said that the police were trying to prevent a group from setting a 30,000 liter bowser containing fuel in fire.
