Hoist a black flag on World Teachers’ Day

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Government Teachers Association of Sri Lanka has requested the public to hoist a black flag at every home in support of the teachers strike action, on World Teachers’ Day.

Senior Deputy Secretary of the Association Indika Paranavithana said this will be marked as a black Teachers Day.

He attributed the request to authority’s failure to provide a suitable environment to celebrate the date allocated to commemorate teachers.
