Health Min. launches probe over female COVID-patients asked to change diapers

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Health has launched an investigation and requested for a report from the Management of the Panadura Base Hospital following allegations were raised that several female patients at the COVID-19 Ward had been asked by the Ward Staff to change diapers of elderly patients.

Daily Mirror quoted the Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath, emphasising that such things should not happen in Hospital Wards as all those warded were COVID-positive patients who required care.

Dr. Herath added that he had informed the Deputy Director General of the Health Ministry Medical Services Division P. W. C. Panapitiya to look into the matter.
