Health guidelines violated in public transport

(UTV | COLOMBO) – It was reported that with the reopening of the country yesterday, health guidelines were violated in passenger transport in busses.

However, bus drivers and conductors said there were not enough passengers on the roads.

State Minister of Transport Dilum Amunugama stated that a special program will be implemented from next Monday regarding buses that violate health guidelines.

He was speaking to the media in Kandy yesterday.

Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that raids are being carried out to find buses violating the quarantine rules.

The General Manager of the Railways Dhammika Jayasundara stated that the train service has been suspended for two weeks and after that 108 trains will be in operation.
