Hakmana hit-and-run: Driver of the truck remanded

UTV | COLOMBO – The driver of the tipper truck that was involved in the Hakmana accident in which a Police constable was killed, has been remanded till the 23rd of July.

The order was issued by the Matara Magistrate’s court.

Five charges have been filed against the suspect.

The charges include manslaughter, attempted murder, injuring officers on duty and negligence. The accident was reported on Monday night in Kongala, Hakmana.

The driver of the tipper truck was arrested yesterday in Ranala. A Police constable died in the accident while two other officers also sustained injuries in the accident.
