Guidelines for vaccination program of those between 18 – 19 years

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The guidelines for the vaccination of those between 18-19 years have been issued by the Ministry of Health.

Army Commander General Shavendra Silva previously announced that all those between the ages of 18 – 19 can obtain the Pfizer Vaccine against COVID-19 from their respective schools from the 21st of October 2021.

According to the guidelines, school authorities have been tasked with summoning A/L students for the vaccination program.

Only students who are sitting for the Advanced level examination in the first or second attempt will be allowed to obtain the vaccine.

Moreover, central clinics of MOH offices and base hospitals have been empowered to vaccinate those who miss the initial stage of the school vaccination program.

Meanwhile, authorities have advised vaccinating A/L students with only a single dose of the vaccine.
