Government allies discuss Yugadanavi petition

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A meeting of the leaders of the government’s allied parties were held yesterday to discuss issues including the budget.

It was at the residence of the leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya, Minister Udaya Gammanpila.

The decision to nominate a separate lawyer for the fundamental rights petition filed in connection with the Kerawalapitiya Yugadanavi power plant agreement was also discussed at this meeting.

Joining the discussion, the General Secretary of the Lanka Sama Samaja Party, Prof. Tissa Vitarana stated that they will meet again after hearing the relevant petitions and decide on appropriate action.

Meanwhile, the Senior Vice President of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa stated that the party has decided to postpone the special Central Committee meeting convened tomorrow to discuss the budget.
