Ginthota man stabbed to death outside mosque

A 38-year-old man died early Friday after being stabbed outside the Katharagama Muslim Mosque in Ginthota, police said.

The victim, identified as a resident of Kurunduwatta, was attacked during an argument believed to have been sparked by a packet of drugs, according to Galle Police.

Investigators said both the deceased and the alleged assailant — a 28-year-old now in custody — were known drug users. A magistrate’s inquiry is scheduled, and further investigations are under way. NW
