Fuel pumping to CEB power plant begins

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Additional General Manager and Media Spokesman Andrew Nawamani stated that 10,000 metric tons of fuel supplied by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) is being pumped to the Kelanitissa Power Plant.

Accordingly, the fuel will be able to be stored in tanks at the plant before the end of today (20), he said.

The first pumping of 1,800 metric tons of fuel to the Kelanitissa power plant was started at around 11.30 last night.

Accordingly, the two power plants at the Kelanitissa Power Complex have been revived, said the Additional General Manager of the Ceylon Electricity Board.

He also stated that with the refuelling of the Kelanitissa power plant, there will be no power cuts today.
