Freight train derailed at Watawala Railway Station

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Nawalapitiya Railway Controlroom says a freight train travelling from Kandy to Badulla has derailed at the Watawala Railway Station, disrupting train operations.

The train derailed around 7 this morning while the incident damaged the railway track.

The Railway Controlroom said trains plying from Badulla to Colombo along the Upcountry Railway line will operate till the Hatton Railway Station while trains plying from Colombo to Badulla will stop at the Watawala Railway Station.
